Dr. Michael O'Brien, M.D., is a Board eligible neurosurgeon who joined the NOSS team in August of 2024. He is fellowship trained in complex spine surgery, including minimally invasive procedures and open deformity.
His philosophy of care is to treat each unique patient as he would a member of his own family, using the latest advances in surgical technology to provide the most appropriate care, starting with the least invasive modalities when possible. Dr. O’Brien earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from American University in Washington, DC and his Master of Science in Biology from New York University in New York City.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York and completed his neurological surgery residency as well as spine fellowship at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. Dr. O’Brien was awarded the Graduate Medical Education Committee Resident Recognition Award during residency.
