Dr. Michael Murphy received his medical degree and Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota. He then attained a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Institute for Bone and Joint Disorders in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Murphy has clinical expertise in arthroscopic knee, shoulder, and hip surgery, and has a special interest in knee and shoulder replacement. He currently serves as a team physician for St. Cloud State University and Sartell High School. Dr. Murphy is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He joined our team in 2000.

Dr. Murphy’s bedside manner could use much improvement along with communication between the PA and MD. I shouldn’t have to repeat everything from what I told PA.
I was surprised and thankful at how engaged and relaxed my doctor was. He was quite thorough in explaining about upcoming treatments and recovery.
Very professional and willing to fix the issues another doctor wouldn’t. Gave options that I did not know I had.

We've been very happy with Dr. Murphy. He's always down he's wanted the best for our sons healing and has been honest at every appointment which is very appreciated.
He was very thorough, has good bedside manners and accommodated the best he could to cause the least amount of pain and discomfort to his patient, under school aged child.
