Dr. Michael Murphy received his medical degree and Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota. He then attained a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Institute for Bone and Joint Disorders in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Murphy has clinical expertise in arthroscopic knee, shoulder, and hip surgery, and has a special interest in knee and shoulder replacement. He currently serves as a team physician for St. Cloud State University and Sartell High School. Dr. Murphy is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He joined our team in 2000.

It’s clear he knows his field.
I've been going here for years and so has my daughter. We've never had a bad Dr experience. I ended up switching doctors because the last one i had left here. His bed side manner was very rushed and comments he made were ones that made me feel like he just wanted the appointment over and like he didn't have the time for me. He bashed what the other Dr said and did were wrong. If I need to be seen for my same issue I WILL NOT be seeing him.
My 9 year old broke her wrist on Christmas. She was devastated and very anxious Dr. Murphy and the staff at St. Cloud orthopedics has been absolutely amazing throughout the entire healing journey from pre surgery to our final follow up! She even gave him a new nick name "Dr. Smurfy". 100% recommend for any orthopedic needs!
