Dr. Michael R. Lenihan, M.D., is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Southern California, where he graduated at the top of his class. After an Orthopedic Residency at the Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center, he subsequently completed a Sports Fellowship with the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic for Sports Medicine. While there, he assisted physicians attending to professional athletes from teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, Rams, and Kings, as well as the Angels, PGA Tour, Senior PGA Tour, and Hollywood Park Racetrack. He also served as Team Physician for LMU and the NCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship Tournament.
Dr. Lenihan has been in private practice in San Diego since 1992. He is a Founding Member and Medical Director of Otay Lakes Surgery Center in Chula Vista. Additionally, he is a Founding Member and President of Synergy Orthopedic Specialists, Inc., a twelve-physician orthopedic group.
