Dr. Michael J. Dr. Koren relocated to the Jacksonville area in 1991 and raised his family here. Dr. Koren founded Apex Cardiovascular Group in 2000 and in 2018 he joined First Coast Heart & Vascular Center. He specializes in preventative cardiology, heart rhythm disorders, valvular disease and nuclear cardiology.
He has published extensively in the world’s most prestigious medical journals including New England Journal of Medicine, Circulation and The Lancet. He also plays competitive soccer and composes music in his spare time.

Dr. Koren is very easy to speak with. He is genuinely concerned with my well-being. I trust and recommend him.
Dr. Koren reviewed with me all of the information that I had and that he had. He came to a conclusion that I fully agreed with based on the evidence we had. He gave me papers to have a blood test taken to substantiate the results that the emergency room provided three days ago. Also, we have set up another appointment in the near future. I have been Dr. Koren’s patient for over 10 years and fully believe in his expertise and evaluations.

Dr Koren is so smart as is Marcie, his ARNP. Yet they are easily approachable and easy to talk to. Dr Koren has been my doctor for 23 years. There’s none better.
