Dr. G is great, he explained everything to me, provided paperwork to explain the procedure, was very reassuring at just the entire procedure.
My only recommendation is during office visits instead of typing on the laptop the entire visit, maybe use a dictation app or recorder and maintain more eye contact and really look/seem engaged with patient. I'm old-school...in my day face-to-face visits meant face-to-face, not patient watching provider type and wondering if he/she was really listening to hear or to document. That's the only reason for 4 stars.
Oh and if someone could help me learn how to pronounce his name so I don't have to keep calling him Dr. G that would be awesome!

Great listener and always creates a plan for me, though insurance doesn’t seem to like the plan. I have the experience of being heard and cared for.

He specializes in a wide range of advanced, minimally invasive techniques including spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulation, radiofrequency ablation, kyphoplasty, regenerative medicine, and image-guided procedures such as epidural injections and sympathetic nerve blocks.
Dr. Gyorfi’s interest in pain management was driven by a desire to address the complex, often-overlooked needs of individuals suffering from chronic pain. He believes in listening intently to each patient’s story and tailoring treatment plans based on both evidence-based medicine and the patient’s personal goals. His mission is to restore function, reduce suffering, and help patients reclaim the parts of life that pain has taken away.
Dr. Gyorfi earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, where he also completed his residency in Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care. He went on to complete a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at UCLA, one of the country’s leading programs in pain management innovation.
Throughout his career, Dr. Gyorfi has held several professional leadership roles, including serving as a committee member for the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA). He also has experience in hospice medicine, bringing a compassionate, patient-first approach to all stages of care. His research contributions include multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on advanced interventional techniques and novel therapies, including spinal cord stimulation, regenerative medicine, and peripheral nerve interventions.
He is an active member of numerous professional societies, including the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM), the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), the North American Spine Society, and ASRA Pain Medicine.
Dr. Gyorfi currently sees patients in Reno (Copperfield Office), Sparks, and Carson City, offering access to state-of-the-art pain treatments throughout Northern Nevada.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Gyorfi enjoys living life to the fullest—whether it’s snowboarding in the Sierra, camping with friends, playing a round of golf, or discovering new places through travel. He’s also a fan of live music and stand-up comedy. Dr. Gyorfi and his wife, Dr. Kaley Gyorfi, an obstetrician-gynecologist at Reno OBGYN Associates, are proud to call Reno home.
