Michael J. Duval, M.D. is a fellowship-trained and board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the upper and lower extremities, as well as total joint replacement.
Dr. Duval serves as the head team physician for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Sports Medicine Program and serves as medical director for the university’s athletic department. He has been a team physician for UL and has been involved in the orthopedic care of Acadiana athletes since 1995.
Dr. Duval completed his orthopedic sports medicine fellowship training at Orthopedic Research of Virginia. Prior to his fellowship, he completed both his residency and medical school training at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and is an active member in the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Duval is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He also serves as a member of the Lafayette Parish Medical Society and State Medical Society.

Very good surgeon
I saw the NP I don’t remember her name, but she was great 👍🏻 She was very compassionate and concerned with my condition and based on results of my xray knee replacement is possible next option.
Dr. Duval was courteous, congenial and conservative in his treatment.

If I could give negative stars I would a million times over! He saw my daught for 3 min but her in a brace and that was it! No information on how long in the brace No follow up appointments to check her progress. But they took my 211.00 this guy is not good. I will be finding a new and better orthopedic! Never will go back!
Same old complaint. He rushes every visit, takes very little time to answer patient's questions, always in a hurry to get to the next room. Frustrating, especially after a long wait. We deserve his undivided attention and patience.
