He obtained his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine, graduating with honors, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Brown University, where he received multiple recognitions for his outstanding leadership and patient care including the prestigious Haffenreffer House Staff Excellence Award. Dr. Mariorenzi remained at Brown where he completed his fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma surgery, mastering the care of complex traumatic injuries as well as routine fracture care. Following this, he completed another fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, becoming an expert in hip and knee replacement surgeries.
Dr. Michael C. Mariorenzi followed in the footsteps of his father, uncle, and grandfather, who are all orthopedic surgeons. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and his family. He also enjoys getting outside to enjoy beautiful Rhode Island summers and doing woodworking projects.
