Dr. Diesenhouse is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has served on the board of the Southern Arizona Association for the Visually Impaired (SAAVI) and he is a past chief of ophthalmology at Northwest Hospital. He has served on the board of the Pima County Medical Society. He is the chief consultant for the award-winning booklet Small Incision Cataract Surgery: Seeing The Difference.
Dr. Diesenhouse has been selected five times as one of the Best Doctors © in America. This organization recognizes doctors whose reputation for clinical excellence places them in the top 5% of their specialty. He is also the co-founder of the Vision Foundation a non-profit 501© (3) charitable organization, whose mission is to teach, perform and support cataract surgery and treatment of diabetic retinopathy in Mexico and Latin America.
Dr. Diesenhouse has performed thousands of cataract surgeries and operates regularly at Catalina Surgery Center (Ina Rd. and La Cholla Blvd.).
