Dr. Novak provided excellent explanations of my options for treatment of my Geographic Atrophy. He explained what he was seeing in the images of my retina. He even went back through multiple years of images to better explain the progression of my condition. Despite the unfortunate situation for my eyes, we even shared a laugh about a non-eye topic. Additionally, his PA Paige was AMAZING. She spent a lot of time with me thoroughly explaining the steps involved in treatment. She answered all my questions and did not make me feel rushed. She was compassionate in understanding the trepidation I have about eye injections. Also, Ellen (I think) was very thorough in the intake portion of my appointment. She asked clarifying questions to make sure she understood what I was experiencing with my eyes. This was my first time at the Beachwood facility and I loved it! Everyone was very friendly. The wait time was reasonable. People seemed to be happy to be working there. Thank you!!

I have a condition called serous central retinopathy (SCR) which is the fluid build up in the back of your retina. I saw many doctors who initially told me there was not much of a cure for this and my condition worsened over the years. Total loss of vision in one or both eyes was a very real possibility for me. I was not settling for this prognosis/outcome and continued to consult with other retina specialists. Thankfully I found Dr Novak and the impressive staff over at RAC. As the SCR worsened due to continued flare ups, Dr Novak discussed a specific laser treatment that done at the right time could stop and potentially reverse the effects and possibly restore my blurred vision. At the end of last year my other eye had now been affected. Thankfully we caught this in time. I went through the laser therapy on both eyes. After years of living with blurred/distorted vision I’m happy to say that the liquid is completely gone and my vision is returning to normal. Thank you!!!
