Dr. Meredith Maxey, M.D., was born and raised in New Richmond, Ohio, a small town just east of Cincinnati. She went on to attend Ohio University's Honors Tutorial College for her undergraduate education before returning to Cincinnati to attend the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. Dr. Maxey then headed to Chicago to complete her residency training at Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
Her decision to practice Family Medicine came down to her desire to care for people of all ages and her deep appreciation for the continuity and relationships that are at the core of primary care. She was also drawn to Family Medicine's strong focus on outpatient
care, as the clinic was always where she envisioned herself practicing. For Dr. Maxey, building lasting connections with patients across their lifespans is what medicine is all about.
Dr. Maxey is thrilled to join the team at Advocate MD. She is most looking forward to the unhurried, genuine partnerships that the Direct Primary Care model makes possible, allowing her to be thorough, present, and accessible to her patients when they need her most. She is also excited to be joining a group of like-minded physicians who share her vision for what great medicine can look like.
When she's not caring for patients, Dr. Maxey enjoys traveling, camping, swimming, and hiking. An avid reader, she also loves spending time outdoors with her husband Travis and their two children.
