Dr. Steinberg received her undergraduate degree from Lehigh University, graduating summa cum laude and earning induction into the Phi Eta Sigma, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Phi Beta Kappa national academic honor societies. She earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, graduating in the top 5 percent of her class and being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York.

Melissa Steinberg, M.D. is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist with over 30 years of experience providing patient-centered eye care. In addition to maintaining a thriving private practice, Dr. Steinberg has practiced in academic medicine for decades and is deeply committed to the advanced training of future ophthalmologists.
Dr. Steinberg served as Director of Residency Education for the Department of Ophthalmology at Jersey City Medical Center for 15 years. She is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Science in Newark, New Jersey, and at Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she continues to train some of the top ophthalmology residents in the country.
Dr. Steinberg was born and raised in northern New Jersey. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling, fitness training, water activities, volunteering at animal shelters, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
