Gates completed a residency in family medicine at Lansing-based Sparrow Hospital under the auspices of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, during which she served as a member of the clinical adjunct faculty.
Gates’ past work experience includes employment as a phlebotomist at Madison, Wis.-based Dean Health Care; as a research intern for Gaithersburg, Md.-based Transgenomic Inc.; as a research intern in epidemiology for New York City’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; and as a research fellow for the Department of Biochemistry at Mt. Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass.

I am so blessed to have a doctor who listens to me and also explains test results and other things to me. I don’t have that experience with all doctors but I do with Dr. Gates.
Melissa is wonderful. She makes me feel calm. Unfortunately, I forget the things I wanted to ask her about🥴 My bad!
