Melanie Parm, D.O.

Dr. Melanie Parm, D.O., has always had a heart for helping others. Whether as a veteran who still volunteers her time to aid military services or as a mother of two, Dr. Parm strives to be an advocate for others. It is this quality that makes her the perfect person to care for our community's smallest patients as a pediatrician at White-Wilson Medical Center in Navarre.

Dr. Parm is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and received her medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University's Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then enlisted in the U.S. Army and completed her residency at Madigan Army Medical Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord near Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Parm served for 9 years, during which time she cared for patients as a pediatrician and later Chief of Pediatrics at Fort Stewart in Georgia, as well as Officer in Charge at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center's Pediatric Clinic in Landstuhl, Germany.

Dr. Parm provides high-quality care to patients from different cultural and familial backgrounds. Leaving the service to focus more closely on patient care, she specializes in all aspects of general pediatric care for children aged 0 to 18 and has a special interest in working with teenage patients regarding reproductive health. Dr. Parm encourages her patients and their families to take an active role in their health care and believes the best care is provided when a pediatrician, patient, and family work together as a team. She strives to make her patient visit an educational experience for all involved, knowing that if everyone is on the same page, the best outcomes can be achieved.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Parm enjoys spending time with her family, reading and running. She describes herself as an "adventure junky" and loves seeking thrills by SCUBA diving, skydiving and rock climbing. She is also a HUGE Florida Gators fan.
