Dr. Megan Flynn, M.D., is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. She began her post-secondary education at the University of Notre Dame where she received her bachelor’s degree. Dr. Flynn then proceeded on to receive her medical degree at Georgetown University in Washington DC, where she acquired awards for leadership and teaching in addition to being elected class vice president. After receiving her medical degree, Dr. Flynn began her surgical training at Columbia University in New York and completed her orthopedic residency at the Cleveland Clinic. Rounding out her training, Dr. Flynn completed her sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham Alabama.
She is highly experienced in working with athletes - from professionals to weekend warriors - where she specializes in primarily soft tissue injuries and treatments of the knee, shoulder, and elbow.
Dr. Flynn's elite surgical and non-surgical training, bedside manner, and passion for improving the well-being of her patients as well as her passion to train the next generation of physicians set her apart in the field of sports medicine.

After several difficult months with a foot fracture that was missed early on, I had seen a number of providers who left me feeling rushed and unheard. By the time I came here, I just hoped to find one doctor who would take me seriously. That is exactly what I found. The physician listened to my whole story with patience and real warmth, examined my foot carefully, reviewed my imaging with me, and gave me a clear plan for coming out of my boot and starting physical therapy. I finally understood where my healing stood, and I left feeling hopeful and genuinely cared for. This is care that treats the whole person, not just the injury, and I am so grateful I found it.

Absolutely full of amazing and useful information. Professional and excellent interpersonal skills. Dr. Flynn made me feel at ease and comfortable. Almost as if I was being cared for by a friend. It's rare to say that going to the doctor was a pleasure, but in this case it totally was! p.s. Everyone at the Hip institute is/was so personable, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and professional!
