Dr. Vogel provided me with an excellent assessment and was able to see me following a referral and recommendation from my previous provider. He was extremely detailed, professional, and honest throughout the entire appointment. He clearly explained my condition, what needed to be done, and the options available to me.
What I appreciated most was that he took my age, current situation, and long-term recovery into consideration and recommended an approach that he felt would provide a better outcome for me. He made sure I understood his reasoning and answered my questions thoroughly. After speaking with him, I feel very comfortable and confident moving forward with Dr. Vogel and his recommended treatment plan.

Max tells it like it is. He is straight-forward and says what he means. But he also means what he says. His bedside manner is wonderful while being truthful at the same time. Sometimes the truth can be painful; but I am very comfortable he would deliver bad news with compassion. Max Vogle is an excellent orthopedic surgeon who is not "surgery hungry"; but does a fabulous job when that is what a patient
needs.

Dr. Vogel is a board eligible and fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine, as well as providing services in both general and trauma orthopedic surgery. He recently completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, where he received specific training in surgical procedures focused on the shoulder, knee, and hip, including multiligamentous knee reconstruction, patellar instability, meniscus repair, cartilage restoration, complex shoulder instability, rotator cuff repair, hip arthroscopy, and shoulder arthroplasty. During his fellowship, he served as assistant team physician for multiple athletic programs including UNC, NC State, Shaw University, the Carolina Hurricanes, and multiple local high schools. He worked closely with both the UNC basketball and NC State football programs during their 2023-2024 seasons. He looks forward to providing the same standard of care to the residents of the CSRA.
Dr. Vogel was born and raised in Aliquippa, PA, just outside Pittsburgh, PA. He earned his undergraduate degree from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, where he played four years on the baseball team. When not in the office, Dr. Vogel enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, and dog. He loves being outdoors, fishing/hunting/hiking, baseball, grilling, and supporting the Pittsburgh Steelers/Pirates/Penguins.
