Dr. Matthew G. Yantis, M.D., earned his B.S. in Biology from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, graduating Cum Laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He completed his medical degree at the University of Tennessee, where he developed a passion for head and neck anatomy and ENT care. Dr. Yantis then completed his Otolaryngology internship and residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, excelling in research and earning awards for his contributions.

Dr. Matthew G. Yantis, M.D., grew up in Chattanooga, TN, and received his B.S. degree in Biology at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, where he graduated Cum Laude and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He then received his medical degree at the University of Tennessee, where he developed a passion for the anatomy of the head and neck as well as caring for diseases of the ear, nose, and throat.
Along with his wife Elyssa, who is a board-certified pediatrician, he moved to Galveston, Texas where he completed his internship and residency in Otolaryngology at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Throughout his residency, he excelled—presenting his research at national ENT meetings and winning the Residency Research Award. He was also nominated for the Best Overall Resident in the hospital and won the Outstanding Overall Resident in Otolaryngology award.
After completing residency Dr. Yantis was ready to escape the Texas heat and be closer to family. He found a welcoming home in Louisville where he was thrilled to join Advanced ENT & Allergy. For his medical practice, he enjoys all facets of Otolaryngology, including care of sinus and allergy issues, along with surgery of the sinuses, including non-invasive techniques such as in-office balloon sinuplasty. He has significant experience in the evaluation and treatment of thyroid and parathyroid disorders, including advanced training in thyroid and neck ultrasound. He also enjoys caring for children and the various pediatric ENT problems that arise including tonsil and adenoid disease, ear and allergy concerns, as well as infections of the head and neck. He is also trained in sleep apnea surgery including the new innovative Inspire device (hypoglossal nerve stimulator), an alternative to CPAP.
Dr. Yantis and his wife enjoy time with their children Crisman, Olivia, and Lucy. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, spending time with his dogs and kids, playing and listening to music, and participating in outdoor activities and water sports such as boating and jet skiing.
