His interests include the latest operative and non-operative treatments of spinal disorders with emphasis on minimally invasive approaches. He has special interest in minimally invasive spinal surgery. Aside from being very successful, these methods reduce the risks of damage to structures near the spine, which tends to shorten patient recovery time and allow quicker return to daily routine. He also has an interest in artificial disk replacements and has been involved in clinical trials with cervical artificial disks. He takes care of patients with primary and metastatic brain tumors. Dr. Mayr is honored to have been named as a Top Doc in Neurosurgery and/or Spine Surgery for the past seven years. He has been with NSA since 2007.
