Dr. Russo believes it is essential to listen to patients and to treat them just as he would his own family members. He was specifically drawn to hip and knee replacements because he finds it rewarding to play a role in the transformation of patients whose lives have been limited by their condition and to help return them to the everyday activities and lifestyle they previously enjoyed.
Dr. Russo received his undergraduate education from the University of Notre Dame prior to his completion of medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. There, he became a member of a select group of medical students known as the Gold Humanism Honor Society representing humanistic attitudes in medicine.
He then completed his residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he received multiple awards for resident teaching in medical education. Dr. Russo later completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction with Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic in Alexandria, Virginia, where he performed over 600 hip and knee replacements with a particular focus and research in multimodal pain management strategies to enhance recovery. He also completed a fellowship in Adult Total Joint Reconstruction at the Anderson Clinic.
He has experience with computer-assisted navigation and prefers the anterior approach for total hip replacement.
Dr. Russo is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

I was very impressed with Dr. Russo‘s knowledge and friendliness. I ultimately decided, based on some information he gave me, to put off having a knee replacement at this time. I would highly recommend him.
Although I did not see Dr. Russo today for my appointment, I was seen by his assistant, Kylee who I found to me quite thorough with her outline, suggestions, Q&A and her professionalism. I’m absolutely no stranger to orthopedics from decades of personal experience, so the professional, personal touch along with keen knowledge is invaluable to me.
his just great he well answer Andy questions.you have. and thank for being a great doctor.
Exceptional surgeon and truly a kind human.
Very knowledgeable and a doctor that takes the time to listen to you What I am trying to say he is a nice guy who knows what he is doing
Excellent surgeon.
DR. RUSSO very kind, compassionate , and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain all the pro and cons for hip replacement surgery. The office visit moved along very punctually. His staff is wonderful. Somewhat disappointed because he no longer accepts my health insurance. I would definitely recommend this doctor if you have the funds to go forth with your health care procedures. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
Best Dr ever and best in his field appreciate everything very much thank you 😘
