After high school, Dr. Ramirez obtained his undergraduate degree in kinesiology from the University of Texas at Arlington. He received his doctorate from Kent State University, College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland. To further his training, Dr. Ramirez completed a comprehensive residency at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Texas. As a part of his education and training, Dr. Ramirez has participated in mission work and provided care at free clinics to those in need.
