He then continued his surgical training with the Grand Rapids/Michigan State University Plastic Surgery Residency program. Dr. Martin is currently a clinical assistant professor through the Department of Surgery at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine and was awarded “Teaching Faculty of the Year” in 2017. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of both the Kent County Medical Society and the Michigan State Medical Society. He has authored publications in the areas of reconstructive plastic surgery, pediatric plastic surgery, hand surgery, breast and aesthetic surgery, and healthcare delivery, and has presented nationally and internationally at numerous plastic surgery meetings.

Dr. Martin was polite, friendly, professional, and extremely thorough. He made sure that I understood what was going on with my hand that I understood what all of my choices were for treatment options. While he gave me his professional guidance and opinion, he was willing to let me choose which of the options we ultimately went with.
Dr. Martin is very thorough, listens to me, and concerned about my concerns. He always tells me to call if something bothers me. I recommend him!
