Dr. Braswell performed femur surgery on me 8 months ago and my recovery has been smooth and complete. He is very thorough and dedicated to his patients total recovery. I could not be more pleased with him as my surgeon!

The visit was good receive x-rays dr. Baswell explain everything to me concerning the x-rays.. my next visit is in August. Have to wear PH. YSIOSTIM on my ankle, so my bone can heal in the tankle. Other than that, I’m satisfied.

Miserable experience. My appointment was for 2:30. I was called back at 3:36. I was then put in a queue for x-rays. At this point I told the nurse that I was out of time. I knew it would have been yet another 45 minutes to see the Doctor. I left and went to your Seagate Urgent Care. Got in right away and was given a diagnosis and plan of care within 25 minutes. That is what I should have done in the first place. Your total disregard of patients time is deplorable. You could have told me early on that it was going to be a long wait, but perhaps the power of revenue clouded such efforts. This is a very avoidable situation with a “patient first” mindset. Very poor experience.

Dr. Braswell’s academic journey began at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He furthered his expertise with a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Carolinas Medical Center, honing his skills in various aspects of orthopedics. Dr. Braswell’s commitment to excellence led him to pursue specialized training in foot and ankle orthopedics through a fellowship at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery, solidifying his expertise in his chosen field.
Dr. Braswell is a frequently published contributor to specialty medical journals and an established podium presenter at national annual meetings for orthopedic specialists. He has also served on various prestigious committees and programs covering a range of topics, including quality assurance and improvement, performing root cause analyses, and instituting quality improvement measures.
A native of Wilmington, Dr. Braswell has a heart for community service and has participated in numerous outreach initiatives throughout his life. While in medical school, he worked with multiple military and veteran service organizations, including founding two. He has participated in medical service trips to Honduras twice and he spent a month in Tanzania in 2023, teaching residents and operating at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center. Dr. Braswell was nominated for the Dr. Louisa Littleton Underserved Populations award and is an active board member for a nonprofit focused on funding surgeries in developing countries.
The son and brother of football coaches, Dr. Braswell played football at John T. Hoggard High School and was a walk-on at UNC. He has a love of athletics in general, and sports medicine in particular, and relished the opportunity to work alongside team physicians for numerous NFL and NBA franchises during his residency and fellowship.
