He has a particular interest in partial knee replacement, minimally invasive patient specific total joint arthroplasty, and MRI-computer based navigation joint replacement.
Dr. Heckler has previously worked as an assistant team physician for a number of professional sports teams including the NFL Minnesota Vikings, MLB Minnesota Twins, NBA Minnesota Timberwolves, NHL Minnesota Wild, WNBA Minnesota Lynx, and the NLL Minnesota Swarm.
Continuing to feed his passion for sports medicine, Dr. Heckler is the orthopedic team physician for Dayton's professional soccer club and the Dutch Lions. He also cares for many of our local high school athletes through the Dayton Sports Medicine Institute and the medical director for Wilson Sports Medicine.

Dr Heckler did a great job addressing my concerns and gave a thorough explanation of options.
I am so grateful I had Dr Heckler as my surgeon. I broke my collar bone when I crashed on my road bike. It was a mess! I’m 65 years young and I am doing fantastic and not afraid to get back on my bike. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this experience has been considering it is NOT what anybody wishes to go through. Thank You for putting me back together and I can pick up my new grand babies again. Back to the gym I am going. 😊🙏
