Matthew Chu, M.D.

Dr. Matthew Chu, M.D., joined Reston ENT in 2026. A native of the DMV area, he grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Information Systems from the University of Maryland before earning his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) medical honor society. Dr. Chu completed his residency training in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Cincinnati, where he trained under national leaders in thyroid surgery, head and neck cancer, sinus disease, laryngology, and facial plastics. During his residency, he also spent nearly a year at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, gaining extensive experience in complex pediatric pathologies and advanced pediatric airway reconstruction. Dr. Chu enjoys treating the full breadth of adult and pediatric ear, nose, and throat conditions. He has specific clinical interests in nasal obstruction, sinus disease, sleep apnea, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, parotid surgery, and tumors of the head and neck. In his free time, Dr. Chu enjoys staying active at the gym, playing tennis, cooking, and traveling.
