Dr. Matthew Cameron, D.O., brings a unique and extensive background to his practice, drawing from diverse experiences across the United States military and various private practice settings. His medical journey began with undergraduate studies at Utah State, followed by medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing his internship at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia, he underwent Naval Flight Surgeon training in Florida. His active duty service in the Navy spanned eight years, including duty stations in San Diego and Ventura County, California, before he transitioned to the Air National Guard (ANG) in California and later Oregon.
Dr. Cameron is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and holds a Sports Medicine Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ). He is also certified in BLS, ACLS, ATLS, Advanced Wilderness Life Support, Disaster Management Provider Course, Fundamental Critical Care Provider Course, and the Community Emergency Response Team Course, as well as Emergency Preparedness Response for CBRNE Course.
His extensive experience in military medicine and private practice has equipped him with a wealth of knowledge, particularly in sports medicine. Dr. Cameron notes the similarities between sports and military medicine, emphasizing the understanding of what an individual needs to perform at their peak. Having personally participated in many sports and recovered from his share of injuries, he brings a deep understanding to the problems everyday people and athletes experience. He's treated athletes at all levels, from Little League to professional (including NFL pro bowlers and World Series winners), as well as weekend warriors, masters, and senior athletes.
Dr. Cameron's primary goal is to help patients recover from acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. He provides comprehensive non-surgical musculoskeletal care, utilizing tools like musculoskeletal ultrasound, therapeutic injections, Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), and the latest regenerative techniques.
