Matthew Boes, M.D.

I went not realizing he only did knees/legs and was afraid he would not be able to address my back pain. He was so understanding of the pain I am feeling and ordered a steroid pack, injection in the Raleigh office and referred me to another doctor he recommended to address my back pain, I was afraid I would not be able to get an answer today but I did!! Dr. Boes was wonderful. Extremely caring.

To be completely honest, Dr. Boes gave me some tough love a few years ago in advice hard to deal with. Horrible knees and horribly overweight. I took his advice and more than 100 pounds off I can move through life not only easier but with less pain. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, but his instincts backed by science is something I can and do trust. He encourages tried and true methods with surgery as the last option. I'm at that point now as a last option and I know I'm in excellent hands.

Every time I’ve visited this facility and Dr. Bose everything has been very pleasant and professional. This office works like clock work yet they all have a way of making you feel at ease.

I refused a cortisone shot and anti inflammatory meds. Dr Boes was very professional and ask what I wanted to do. I explained and he excepted my naturopathic choices in lowering inflammation to help reduce pain. but agreed in a month we will do MRI to get a definitive result in what I’m dealing with. He was awesome10 plus stars😁

Dr. Boes listened to me and did not talk down to me. He gave me what I hope will turn out to be good advice and cautioned patience with my injury. He encouraged continued treatment with my physical therapist. I needed a cortisone shot in the knee and while I'm squeamish about needles in the joint, he made the process painless.

First time meeting him and we are off to the operating table. Wish I had more info to go on after giving him history of knee. He didn’t even examine me. Just relied on test results

He was very belittling to me. Never looked at or touched my knee. Didn’t ask my symptoms. Every time I tried to speak he cut me off. Came in the room with an X-ray a PA from his office did 4 months ago where she diagnosed a bakers cyst, he said it was arthritis and could be a meniscus tear. Ordered an MRI, wrote a script for anti inflammatory. Would not entertain any questions. Maybe he was having a really bad day or was really behind but made me feel as if my visit was very much an inconvenience for him. Was so rude speaking to me I was just before tears, and I am not a sensitive person.

Great guy, great surgeon. just wish my original diagnosis was more accurate. Performed arthroscopy. In actuality needed shoulder replacement. Now I must return for another grueling surgery. IMHO arthroscopy should have been halted when it was recognized under anesthesia that I had none on bone shoulder issues. 😢

What i really liked was his reluctance to give me an injection for a knee that obviously needs repaired, based on it's not worth risk of infection..My former wife works at a Hospital so i know how prevelant and dangerous infections are once you introduce objects into the skin..Gave me a great sense of trust in Dr Boes he's a man of integrity.

This position came into the office to meet with me after I had already established a good rapport with everyone there. He seemed very dismissive and that at all interested in seeing me. He acted as though at night with the drug seeking which I am not I am merely followed up after a motor vehicle accident. I regret ever coming to your clinic and I will not come back again nor will I refer anyone to you. He was very dismissive and quite frankly rude. I will also be writing a Google review.

Dr. Boes is a fantastic Doctor and person. He is very skilled and knowledgeable as an orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Boes performed a left knee replacement in 2016 and a complete left shoulder replacement in October 2018. My recovery was great both times.
