Matthew Bickford, M.D.

Dr. Matthew Bickford joined Palmetto Eye and Laser Center in August 2024. Dr. Bickford is originally from Aiken, SC and attended Clemson University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with general and department honors while earning a BS in Microbiology. He completed his medical degree at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Bickford continued in Charleston at the Storm Eye Institute where he completed his Residency in Ophthalmology. He also completed a Fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery; training with mentors at Boston Vision as well as Harvard’s teaching hospitals including Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
