Dr. Barnes is a great doctor. I really appreciate his kind and thoughtful care. However, he is way over scheduled. I was told to arrive 15 minutes early for my appointment which I did. This was not necessary. My appointment was at 3:45. I got there at 3:30. I did not see the doctor until around 5:10.

Dr. Matthew Barnes, M.D. is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. He earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee after attending Furman University in Greenville, where he earned his undergraduate degree in history. Dr. Barnes is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He enjoys all aspects of gastroenterology, but has a particular interest in biliary tract disorders, liver disease, and colon cancer prevention. He is also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society for Gastroenterological Endoscopy.
Dr. Barnes and his wife, Megan, have two daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, playing golf, cooking/grilling, and spending time with his family.
