Oh my goodness Dr. Barnes was absolutely one of the nicest doctors I’ve met. He has a wonderful personality, in fact Gastroenterology Associates clinic in Clemson SC is a phenomenal place to go. He was very knowledgeable and knew how to put me at ease. Afterwards he came back to explain what he found and what he did and answered all my questions, I never felt rushed or like he didn’t have time for me. I highly recommend Dr. Barnes.

Dr. Matthew Barnes, M.D. is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. He earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee after attending Furman University in Greenville, where he earned his undergraduate degree in history. Dr. Barnes is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He enjoys all aspects of gastroenterology, but has a particular interest in biliary tract disorders, liver disease, and colon cancer prevention. He is also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society for Gastroenterological Endoscopy.
Dr. Barnes and his wife, Megan, have two daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, playing golf, cooking/grilling, and spending time with his family.
