Dr. Matt McKean was born and raised in Mobile and graduated from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School. He received his undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences from Auburn University and his medical degree from The University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. Following medical school, he completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at The University of Mississippi Medical Center. He then went on to complete a year-long fellowship in advanced orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.
As a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. McKean specializes in the management of orthopaedic related conditions affecting the lower extremity, especially the knee, foot and ankle. His fellowship training involved all aspects of foot and ankle surgery from sports related injuries and fracture management to complex reconstructive surgery including total ankle replacements.
In his free time, Dr. McKean enjoys spending time with his wife, Barclay, and two sons, Bender and Walker. He also enjoys boating, playing golf and following college sports.

I was recommended by a friend to see Dr Mckean bc of some issues I was having with my foot, I've him several times, Dr. McKean, us very good, he's very knowledgeable and knows exactly what to do, you tell him your symptoms and immediately tells you what's going on and why and what needs to be done to fix the problem, he also has a good personality and he communicate well and he listens to your concerns, I appreciate doctors that does this. Thank You Dr. McKean keep doing what you do, the way that you're doing it, it's all very much APPRECIATED!!
