Dr. Matt Lovato, M.D., is a Wyoming native who brought his pediatric expertise to the South when he moved to Gadsden in 2007. Dr. Lovato attended Hastings College in Nebraska for his undergraduate studies and earned his medical degree at the University of Nebraska. His residency was in Kalamazoo, Michigan, spent three years in the Air Force, and worked in Auburn before making Gadsden his home. He has been practicing medicine in Gadsden for over 15 years and especially enjoys getting to know his patients and watching them grow over the years.
In his free time, Dr. Lovato hosts exchange students from foreign countries and is always finding new ways to share American and Alabamian culture with them, especially by finding fun things to do in Montgomery, Birmingham, or Atlanta. He also frequently volunteers with his church youth group and spends a week each summer at Camp Catch-a-Rainbow supporting children who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Dr. Lovato is board-certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and has additional training in adolescent medicine. He brings empathy, experience, and a passion for medicine to Etowah Pediatrics.
