He is the best! I have been seeing Dr. Heilala for 16 years. He has treated me for bone infection, staph infection, and numerous other issues. I believe he saved me serious foot issues that could have resulted in amputation. I will not consider any other doctor to treat me.

Friendly, personable, businesslike, very professional, and thorough! I'd have to rate Dr Heilala as among to the three best physicians I've ever visited.

Dr. Heilala took off a toenail and then did a thorough assessment of a foot tendonitis for which I was being treated. In the process, he had an X-ray completed and discovered a metatarsal fracture that hadn’t been seen on a prior X-ray or MRI. Now I’m in a walking boot and grateful that the fracture is being treated.

Dr. Heilala performed four procedures on my feet since December 2021. He surgically corrected my hammer toes, bunion, and morton's nueroma. Not only is Dr. Heilala an excellent surgeon his bedside manner is friendly, informative and genuine. I strongly recommend Dr. Heilala and Alaska Foot & Ankle Specialists for any foot care needs.

I've had a lot of trouble with my feet over the years and have been to several different doctors. Matt is the best and his staff is awesome. From neuropathy, bunions, hammer toes and wounds, Matt's treatment has been right on. No guess work or bull dung. He takes the time to discuss treatment options and lifestyle changes that may be necessary.

Dr. Heilala has treated me several times including two operations and two broken feet. (I can be a klutz.) He is an excellent doctor; considerate of his patients; excellent at explaining procedures and options. I would recommend him to anyone.

He may get 5 stars in another week, if this infection goes away. He did offer new suggestions and spent plenty of time helping me, and I didn’t even have a reservation.

Dr. Heilala was wonderful! My daughter got a very thorough exam and the findings were explained in detail. Everyone in the office was extremely friendly and helpful.

I have much like him however i was in great pain and he hid absolutely nothing. I was most disappointed.

Answered questions, made a lot of suggestions but did not follow through. Offered things that were not given. Seemed over confident of surgical outcome possible. Referred me to a partner but did not get it scheduled. Opted to wait and see orthopedic surgeon. Felt like he treated the whole thing rather lightly.

So far so good. Having been under Matt's care for the past year I am very happy with his care and professionalism. I have just had bilateral hammer toe surgery so we'll see how that comes out.

Dr. Heilala has always been very thorough in all my dealings with him. Have had some foot surgeries and all have turned out well. Would definitely recommend him especially for diabetic foot problems.
