Mary Boyd, MD

Dr. Mary Boyd, M.D., is a veteran physician and the current Chief of the Beverly Hospital Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, a position she has held since 2018. Her academic foundation began at Wellesley College, followed by medical education at Dartmouth & Brown Medical Schools. She completed her specialized residency training at Women & Infants Hospital at Brown University in 1999, the same year she joined the team at Essex County OB/GYN.

Dr. Boyd finds deep meaning in her work, viewing it as an honor to hear her patients' stories and support them through their health journeys. She joined Essex County OB/GYN because of the group's shared commitment to providing the best possible care for every patient.

With over two decades of experience at Essex County OB/GYN, Dr. Boyd balances her leadership role with her dedication to meeting new patients and maintaining long-term relationships with established ones. She believes in a collaborative approach to medicine, working closely with her colleagues to ensure high-standard care.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Boyd is an avid explorer and outdoorswoman. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Bill, their three adult children, and the family dog. Her personal interests include hiking, kayaking, skiing, sailing, and knitting. An art museum enthusiast and cook, she is often found planning her next trip to dream destinations like Japan, New Zealand, Iceland, or an African safari. Locally, she finds her greatest peace at any spot next to the ocean.
