Dr. Mankey is a poor communicator, both listening and providing patients with appropriate information needed to make treatment decisions or about the treatment he provided. He is rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. He refused to acknowledge my post-surgical complications. My pain was taken as a criticism of his performance. When, months after surgery, it was visibly apparent that there was an issue, he finally diagnosed it properly. However he said there was nothing he could do. He then repeatedly said he’d never had this happen before, completely focused on himself. I had to start seeing another foot specialist and now my complications are being treated appropriately. Because of Dr. Mankey’s refusal to address the issue in a timely manner, I face a lifetime of pain. Additionally, he refuses to follow best practice and chart in the room. Consequently, he’s unprepared to discuss details and makes assumptions without validating them with patient or by referring to the chart notes.
