During his 30 years of practice, Dr. Tsuchiyose has been an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco. He has been a leader at his primary hospital, Seton Medical Center in Daly City. He served as Section Chief of Gastroenterology, Head of the Nutrition Support Team, Chairman of Medicine. He also served on the board of the Seton Foundation. Dr. Tsuchiyose has always been an advocate for private practice, where physicians have the ability to put their patients first. He served as president of 3 separate physician groups to accomplish this goal.
Dr. Tsuchiyose’s passion now lies in treating the root causes of diseases rather than treating symptoms. This has led him to creating the SMART weight control program combating the epidemic of obesity and the metabolic syndrome. He also has a passion for Functional GI Disorders which requires a relearning of medicine from his traditional education.
Dr. Tsuchiyose strongly believes in a balanced approach to life. If you do not see him in the clinic or hospital you will find him on the golf course, tennis or squash court, ski slope or somewhere around the world. He also has recently discovered the magic of Aikido, a Japanese Martial Art that integrates a peaceful philosophy of life.

Thorough knowledge of practice area
Mark explained everything to me about my upcoming procedure Very knowledgeable and caring attitude for me
Doctor did not want to spend time, and listen to patient’s situation. He just met with me less than 5 minutes. I did not even know he completed checking. I’d to ask nurse it’s done or not. It’s horrible situation to see American doctors lately. They probably wish to claim money from insurance rather than taking care patients respectfully.
Dr. T IS DIRECT, explains what he tells you and what to do…THANK YOU DR T for the many years you. Takes care of my GI, etc…
He’s very much interested in diagnosing and properly treating my rare health condition that went undiagnosed by others for 4+ years. He actually listens and asks probing questions to better understand and treat my disease.
Very helpful and easy to talk to.
Completely satisfied by Dr Tsuchiyose’s professionalism and expertise. He understood all of my issues and has a complete knowledge and understanding of my medical history. I trust him implicitly.
He knows what he’s doing. Very knowledgeable. I like him.
Figured my problem ive been struggling with for 10-15 years where other doctors gave me the run around…
Best doctor ever
