Dr. Mark Ortiz was born and raised in Ashland, Ohio. He attended undergraduate at the Ohio State University; graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Afterwards, he remained in Columbus, Ohio where he received his Doctorate of Optometry with honors at The Ohio State College of Optometry in 2017.
Dr. Ortiz completed his residency training in family practice optometry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. There he gained extensive training in pediatric/adult comprehensive care, contact lenses, surgical co-management, and ocular disease management. Deeply committed to community service, Dr. Ortiz has participated in numerous regional mission trips and vision screenings. He was the 2017 recipient of the Community Outreach Clinical Excellence Award, awarded by The Ohio State College of Optometry.
Dr. Ortiz is currently a Fellow with the American Board of Optometry and is an active member of the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, and the Georgia Optometric Association.

Dr. Ortiz’, his front office team and his medical team in the Villa Rica Georgia Vision Institute Office model their Mission Statement. They are always professional, highly trained, considerate of all their patients and their body languages match their verbal interactions with their patients and their fellow medical team members.
Dr. Ortiz is so pleasant he always has a smile on his face he make you feel welcomed and wanted. His chair size manner is excellent. I’ll give him a 10 star if I could. His staff is so wonderful, helpful, and knowledgeable. I love coming to both of their offices. I will recommend anyone that needs eyeglasses or an exam.
