Dr. Mark Mysnyk is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in total knee replacement, sports medicine, knee, shoulder, and elbow. He joined Steindler Orthopedic Clinic in August 1988.
A native of Vestal, New York, Dr. Mysnyk received his Bachelor of Science degree in general science from The University of Iowa. He then completed his Doctor of Medicine degree and orthopedic residency at University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
When he's not seeing patients, Dr. Mysnyk enjoys spending time with his family, boating, working out, and participating in church activities. He is also proud to serve as a team physician for Cornell College and West High School and as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.

Dr. Mysnyk has cared for me for many years. I can't imagine a physician with more knowledge, patience, and compassion. He takes the time to carefully explain diagnosis and treatment. He is the best!
So very thorough. He had handouts and copies to send home with me of my x-ray - and on those copies he made notes as he was talking. I appreciate that so much because when I get home I want to be sure I can remember everything he said. I was especially thankful for the prayer that he and his nurse took the time to pray with me at the end of our appointment
I would recommend him to any person . He is very up front on his diagnosis, easy and very detailed directions.
Dr. Mysnyk was great to work with. He took his time answering all of our (parents) questions as well my son’s (14 year old and the patient) questions even when they were redundant. He wanted us all to have as much understanding of the problem, the surgical repair, and what recovery would be like as possible. He was patient, kind, and thorough.

He is a top notch doctor, takes the time to explain everything and is very kind. I had knee replacement surgery 2 weeks ago today. I was so scared to have the surgery. Everyone put me to ease. A doctor like Dr. Mark doesn’t make you feel like a number.
