Services: Mako Total Knee Application
Shady Grove is proud to be the only Hospital in your region offering this new treatment option. Mako Total Knee transforms the way total knee replacements are performed. The Mako Total Knee application is a knee replacement treatment option designed to relieve the pain caused by joint degeneration due to osteoarthritis. Through CT-based 3D modeling of bone anatomy, surgeons can use the Mako System to create a personalized surgical plan and identify the implant size, orientation and alignment based on each patient’s unique anatomy. The Mako System also enables surgeons to virtually modify the surgical plan intraoperatively and assists them in executing bone resections.

He gave me great detail of my situation about my hip issues, fast efficient and informative!
Always very efficient and does a great job of explaining everything
Very brief visit. Didn't ask questions about my daily exercise routine, didn't provide info on what activities to perform or avoid or steps to rehab other than meds, shot or surgery.
We drove 35 minutes out of town in order to meet with Dr. Peterson. He diagnosed our son as he walked in and followed with “he just needs to not run and put on a ….. brace on if he’d like to”. The doctor then proceeded to walk out of the room all under five minutes time. We had to stop him and ask him what other activities our athlete son could do to prepare for the season and stay in shape and also ask how long it would be of no running. We then had to ask him to write down the name of the brace as it’s a usual term. After somewhat answering our questions we had to stay behind and wait for his assistant in order to list the name of the diagnosis, so that we could then leave the office and look up what protocol would be based on the diagnosis. I don’t understand how a doctor with his experience would think this level of mediocre care and interaction is OK. We would never recommend him.
He has been my dr before. A long time ago. He has a great beside manner and very informative. I wish he could be my dr for all my orthopedic problems.
He talked a lot about himself, asked me no questions, talked very fast with technical language, and identified the wrong knee on the information form. I had confidence in his skill but not in his care.
Professional, direct, technically proficient and superb communications. Exactly what you want in a doctor.
Very personable.
My appointments with Dr Peterson usually last about 3 minutes and I have to fight to get my questions in. A few pleasantries — a hello, even—would go a long way (He started this appointment by saying “well you’re getting older”.). I will likely see another Dr for any follow ups.
Dr. Peterson provided excellent care for my daughter with a broken elbow.
