Her academic journey began at Universidad de Puerto Rico en Cayey, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Science. Pursuing her passion for medicine, she graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in 2003 with a medical degree.
After gaining invaluable experience in an oncology hospital in Puerto Rico, Dr. Rivera Vazquez moved to the United States in 2006, prioritizing family life by dedicating time to her two daughters. Yet, her love for medicine drew her back in 2010, leading to her joining the residency program at South Texas Health System. It was here that she showcased her exemplary skills, earning the prestigious ‘Intern of the Year’ title in her inaugural year.
Since 2013, Dr. Rivera Vazquez has cemented her reputation as a respected hospitalist, contributing her expertise to various esteemed institutions, including DHR Health, South Texas Health System, Mission Regional Medical Center, Rio Grande Regional Hospital, and Solara Specialty Hospitals.
