Marian Northington, M.D.

Dr. Marian Northington grew up in Florence, Alabama and graduated from University of Alabama summa cum laude with a major in biology and minor in psychology. She then graduated from University of Alabama at Birmingham with AOA honors. After completing an internship in internal medicine at UAB, she then completed a dermatology residency at UAB. Dr. Northington was accepted into a highly distinguished fellowship in San Diego with one of the world’s most innovative, talented cosmetic dermatologists and laser surgeons, Dr. Richard Fitzpatrick. Dr. Northington was able to spend a year with Dr. Fitzpatrick and his colleagues to develop her expertise in laser resurfacing, laser treatments for vascular and pigmented lesions, injectables such as soft tissue fillers, and botulinum toxin, Mohs surgery and other dermatologic surgery and liposuction. Dr. Northington moved back to Alabama after the fellowship and returned to UAB as the Director of Cosmetic Dermatology. She was able to teach and give national lectures on cosmetic dermatologic procedures during her academic career.
