Dr. Marcos Reyes, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He was born in New York City and then moved to Houston Texas at an early age where he did the majority of his schooling. He attended Brigham Young University where he met and married his sweetheart, Raina. After their undergraduate studies were completed.
Dr. Reyes attended medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He went on to finish his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Texas in San Antonio, Texas. During his residency he received refractive surgery training in LASIK and PRK at the nationally recognized Air Force WarFighter Refractive Surgery Center. He received many honors including the University of Texas School of Medicine “Joe R McFarlane award for Compassion, Fairness, Justice, Integrity.” He was also selected selected by his peers and attending professors to serve as the sole Chief Resident for his senior year of residency.
Following Dr. Reyes’ residency, he completed a glaucoma fellowship at the prestigious Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He then took a teaching position with the faculty of the University of Missouri Mason Eye Clinic as an assistant professor for 5 years, training Ophthalmology residents surgical and clinical techniques. There he was assigned as clinic director in addition to receiving a number of teaching awards.
In 2015 he and his family moved to Southern Utah to continue practicing medicine in private practice. They have four wonderful children whom he loves spending time with. Hiking, mountain biking and reading are a few of his favorite hobbies.
With over a decade of glaucoma specialty work he is very experienced in glaucoma decision making and surgery. He is an experienced LASIK, PRK, and implantable collamer lens (ICL) surgeon as well as an excellent cataract surgeon and advanced anterior segment surgery specialist.
