I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about myself and my experience in healthcare. I am originally from Chicago and grew up in Wilmette, Illinois. I earned my B.S. degree in biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana, Magna Cum Laude, in 1989. I continued my studies at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, obtaining my medical degree with honors in 1993.
Following my graduation, I pursued orthopedic training during my residency at Loyola University Medical Center. I then completed an additional year-long advanced training program, or fellowship, sub-specializing in orthopedic traumatology at OrthoIndy / Indiana University in Indianapolis.
I am a board-certified orthopedic surgeon whose practice is focused on orthopedic trauma. This includes limb reconstruction, pelvis fractures, peri-articular fractures, and general fracture care. It is my mission to provide you excellent service with compassionate care. I always strive to provide you the same high-quality orthopedic care that I would offer to a member of my family.
I remain active in continuing medical education. I serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, Site Director for the Rush residency program, and as Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center. I am also active in the AO teaching faculty and the Orthopedic Trauma Association.
In addition to my extensive medical commitments, I enjoy biking, scuba diving, reading, and spending time with my family.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to further improve your experience at Ortho Illinois. My goal is to provide you the best medical care available.
I look forward to meeting you.
- Marc Zussman, M.D.

Very kind and caring.
Would tell anyone to go to him if they need his type of service.
He has a stellar bedside manner. All of the employees were exceedingly friendly. I will be recommending you to all of my clumsy elderly friends. Thanks to everyone for being so kind I've been a few places where everyone seemed bored or they were plain rude It was nice to not have to deal with that. Thank you much.
Dr. Zussman is the absolute best. He is respectful, polite, knowledgeable, and made sure I understood everything about my ankle surgery and recovery process. He is truly the best!
Fantastic Doctor
Visit went very well! I had great news on my progress and Dr. Zussman transitioned me into an ankle brace. I was very happy! Thanks to all at OrthoIllinois!
Thankyou
Dr. Zussman continues to be my hero. He repaired a severe break of my left leg and continues to be there for me when needed. He is awesome!
Thank you Dr Zussman
Very, very satisfied with all that he did for us. Very kind, caring and explained everything completely. I’ve already told many about him.
