I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about myself and my experience in healthcare. I am originally from Chicago and grew up in Wilmette, Illinois. I earned my B.S. degree in biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana, Magna Cum Laude, in 1989. I continued my studies at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, obtaining my medical degree with honors in 1993.
Following my graduation, I pursued orthopedic training during my residency at Loyola University Medical Center. I then completed an additional year-long advanced training program, or fellowship, sub-specializing in orthopedic traumatology at OrthoIndy / Indiana University in Indianapolis.
I am a board-certified orthopedic surgeon whose practice is focused on orthopedic trauma. This includes limb reconstruction, pelvis fractures, peri-articular fractures, and general fracture care. It is my mission to provide you excellent service with compassionate care. I always strive to provide you the same high-quality orthopedic care that I would offer to a member of my family.
I remain active in continuing medical education. I serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, Site Director for the Rush residency program, and as Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center. I am also active in the AO teaching faculty and the Orthopedic Trauma Association.
In addition to my extensive medical commitments, I enjoy biking, scuba diving, reading, and spending time with my family.

Appointment was at 10:30 Was not taken back to the examining room until noon. That's a very long time for any patient to wait. Especially an 89 year old. Very poor scheduling of appointment times on the schedulers part.
Great attitude and concern
Dr zussman and his team has been great in my recovery. I am amazed at with the injuries I had how much progress I have made. He is definitely the real deal.
Very caring. I met with his PA and she explained why I was having pain in a certain area and what to do about it.
Very personable
Compassionate, explains everything very well. Really seems to care about the wellbeing of his patients. Surgery was a success and we were very happy to have him be the one to do it. His coworker was also very knowledgeable and kept us well informed, great team. Happy we have them.
