Marc Connell, M.D.

Dr. Marc Connell is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and Joint Replacement. After completing residency training at Georgetown University and a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Yale University in 1993, Dr. Connell joined Washington Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. He was president and managing partner of the practice from its inception until 2014.

Dr. Connell recently served as a team physician for a number of professional sports clubs. He served as the head team physician for the Washington Wizards basketball team for 21 years as well as a team physician for the Washington Capitals hockey team. He is a former head team physician for the Washington Mystics women’s basketball team. In addition, he was the chief medical officer for World Cup Soccer and Olympic Soccer.

Dr. Connell is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
