Mara Dubnow, MD, JFACOG

Dr. Mara Dubnow, MD is a (board-certified or board-certified) Obstetrician and Gynecologist providing expert women’s healthcare in Evanston and Glenview. She offers comprehensive OB/GYN services, including prenatal care, obstetrics, gynecologic surgery, family planning, fertility services, and preventive women’s health. Dr. Dubnow is dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, ensuring every patient feels informed, supported, and empowered throughout their healthcare journey.



Dr. Dubnow earned her Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she was James Scholar and graduated magna cum laude. She also completed minors in Chemistry and Mandarin and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.



She received her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago. Her training included both routine and complex women’s health conditions, preparing her to provide comprehensive care across all stages of life. Prior to joining Midwest Center for Women’s HealthCare, Dr. Dubnow practiced for several years as an OB/GYN in Phoenix, Arizona.



Her clinical and research interests include diabetes in pregnancy, trauma-informed pelvic exams, and cardiac electrophysiology, reflecting her commitment to advancing women’s health and improving patient outcomes.



In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Dubnow has a strong background in community health leadership and women’s health advocacy. She served as Senior Advisor and former Executive Board President of the New Life Volunteering Society, where she expanded access to care for underserved populations and led impactful outreach initiatives.



Outside of medicine, Dr. Dubnow is a second-degree black belt and accomplished karate competitor, marathon runner, and culinary enthusiast. She is passionate about wellness, mentorship, and empowering women to take an active role in their health. Since welcoming her daughter, Dr. Dubnow believes she has gained a more personal understanding of the experiences she helps guide her patients through every day.
