Mallory Kirkland, DPM

Born in Huntsville, Alabama, Dr. Mallory Kirkland, D.P.M., is a podiatric surgeon practicing at Upperline Health in Madison, Alabama. Previously, Dr. Kirkland was employed at the Upperline Health locations on Hoover and HWY 280 in Birmingham. Her areas of expertise encompass treating bunion deformities, calluses, fungal nail infections, hammertoes, and plantar fasciitis. She also has keen interests in reconstructive surgery for the forefoot, solutions for flatfoot conditions, heel pain management, and the care of diabetic-related foot issues.

She conducts her surgical procedures at Athens Limestone Surgery Center, which can be found on US HWY 72.

Dr. Kirkland’s academic journey included attaining her undergraduate degree from Maryville College, where she studied biological sciences and minored in mathematics. Subsequently, she pursued her doctorate at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Upon receiving her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree, she undertook a rigorous 3-year residency in both forefoot and rearfoot podiatric surgery at Ascension St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

An engaged member of several professional bodies, Dr. Kirkland associates herself with the American Podiatric Medical Association, the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons, the American Association for Women Podiatrists, and the American College of Foot and Ankle Pediatrics. She was instrumental in getting SB28 into law, allowing Alabama podiatric surgeons to treat conditions of both the foot and ankle, ensuring patients get better care more efficiently. Dr. Kirkland was elected Treasurer of the Alabama Podiatric Medical Association in May 2024.

Away from her clinical duties, Dr. Kirkland cherishes time with her family, indulges in golfing, enjoys reading, and is an avid follower of Alabama football.
