Doctor visits can often feel overwhelming for children, and eye exams with new equipment and bright lights can be intimidating. I love using play to help kids feel comfortable and bring joy to clinic visits. My relationships with my patients and families are so rewarding, and it is an honor to provide care that will impact vision for the rest of a patient's life. Having grown up in the Twin Cities, it is so special to be at SPEC and provide this care in a community that means so much to me.
I fell in love with ophthalmology when I volunteered with a free clinic that provided vision services. I met multiple patients who were legally blind from treatable eye conditions, and I was inspired by the life-changing results of medical and surgical treatment of eye disease.
