Dr. Madhavi Thomas earned her medical diploma at the Andhra Medical College in India. She then underwent post-graduate training in the United Kingdom for internal medicine and Neurology.
She completed her neurology residency training and fellowship in movement disorders at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, where she also served as faculty in the school's Movement Disorders center. She then moved on to obtain additional fellowship training at the Experimental Therapeutics branch of the National Institutes of Health, located in Bethesda, MD until March 2005. She also held a Associate Professor Position at Penn State University in 2020.
She is now President of the North Texas Movement Disorders Institute, Inc., a dedicated center for clinical care and research located in Flower Mound, TX.
Dr. Thomas has specialized training in botulinum toxin injections, deep brain stimulation, and treatment of various movement disorders, with a focus on Parkinsons disease. She has presented her work at various national and international Neurology and Movement Disorders meetings, and is well-published in national and international journals.
When not immersed in research and the clinic, Dr. Thomas enjoys classical Indian music, oil painting, world travel, and spending time with her family.
