She was engaged in research activities at the University of Pittsburgh, after which she completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and Columbia University in New York, New York and her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology from Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
She is an active participant in national allergy meetings, and has presented and published multiple reports. She is also an active member of the following organizations: American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, Texas Medical Association, Texas Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Society and San Antonio Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Society. Dr. Karkhanis works with pediatric and adult patients to help treat allergies and asthma.
She also serves as a Sub-Investigator on several studies at the Allergy and Asthma Research Center, which keeps her abreast of the latest developments in the field. In her spare time, she enjoys art, literature, culinary experimentation and spending time with her family.

I had to weight over an hour and half to get seen. No one came by to say anything about the long wait.
Love Dr Karkhanis, she is very thorough, is great at prescribing what is needed to get you on the road to recovery so you stay healthy and can go on with your daily activities without feeling exhausted and out of breath because of flare ups. She is a true gem.

Dr. Karkhanis has been very diligent about identifying the causes of, and a solution to, my allergy issues. She is also very personable and kind. I highly recommend her.
I actually saw another staff member a male doctor I’d never seen before. He came out immediately to see me in the biologic office because I had been having trouble with perhaps my injection. I have made an appointment to see a PA on Tuesday, to follow up on my test prior injection and my other symptoms. Whoever this doctor was, he was fabulous and the fact that he came to see me immediately is quite amazing.
Have been receiving my allergy and flu shot from this clinic for several years. Friendly staff and I never have to wait more than 15 once I sign in. Highly recommend.
