Dr. Lucy Sun

Dr. Lucy Sun, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive eye care with expertise in cornea and ocular surface diseases. She is committed to delivering the highest standard of care, combining advanced surgical skills with a patient-centered approach.

Dr. Sun graduated with honors from the University of Rochester and earned her medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Northwell Health, followed by fellowship training in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery at Emory University.

She has published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, authored textbook chapters, and is active in surgical training of ophthalmologists. She trains ophthalmology residents at Northwell Health and serves as a faculty instructor for skill transfer courses at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery’s annual national meetings.

Dr. Sun believes that exceptional care begins with listening and tailoring treatment to each patient’s needs. She is skilled in cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and the management of both routine and complex ocular conditions. Her goal is to ensure patients feel fully informed, comfortable, and confident throughout their care.

A native New Yorker, Dr. Sun is honored to return to Queens to serve the community where she grew up. Outside of medicine, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
