Attending Brown University as an Economics major, Dr. Jurist graduated with honors as a Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, graduating in 1981. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Tufts-New England Medical Center, where he still holds an appointment as a clinical instructor. Dr. Jurist finished his training at the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center, where he completed a fellowship in hand surgery and microsurgery.
Dr. Jurist is active in national professional societies such as the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and serves as a board member and other medical staff leadership positions at the hospitals at which he holds medical staff privileges. Personally, he enjoys golfing and biking, participating in Pan Mass Challenge bike ride for the Dana Farber Cancer institute for 10 years.

Outstanding doctor that made me comfortable for surgery on wrist
Dr.Jurist did a great job on my hand for Carpal tunnel problem. Thier was little pain the day and after , I didn't need anything for pain two day latter it was and still is just sore that's all I couldn't believe it, what ever the problem was it's gone, he did a maybe a one inch cut and fixed it wow. I had it done twenty something years ago and.it was a big operation, my whole arm was in a sliding for a week, Dr J just wraped my hand for only a week. No pain after only two day, it was great. I could go on but you getu drift. Excellent bed side Doctor tell him thank for a great job.

I have struggled with Carpel Tunnel off and on for over 20 years. I must admit my cowardice when thinking of the surgury, recovery, and the possibility of losing some fine motor function.
