Louis M. Adler, M.D.

Dr. Adler diagnosed my problem. He explained that he could give me a cortisone shot that would help. If that doesn't work he could give me a second shot. Surgery was not my first choice. I agreed to have the injection. He was more cordial and informative that another Dr. I had seen previously.

Dr. Adler is very knowledgeable. I had a very painful trigger finger. He gave me a shot, and I felt relief the next day. He was very kind.

I appreciated his attentiveness and straightforward explanations regarding why surgery is the best option for me. He immediately put me at ease and won over my trust.

My only complaint is my experience scheduling my surgery. I had to call several times and received no call back until I finally left a somewhat scathing message! It was 10 days and 3 calls just to get a call back. Other than the scheduling, everything else was a very good experience!

Dr. Adler has been a complete professional and scholar from the first time we met about my fingers locking to today (7/12/24), the date of my hand surgery to correct it. The surgery was a complete success; to say the least. His approach, his listening patience of MY CONCERNS and his spontaneous readiness to explore options were superb. Ok doctor, read my X-rays but didn’t explain much like the PA I initially saw- had a broken finger from hand and when asked him a few questions about possible nerve damage his response was “I don’t know it shouldn’t be like that” and told me to make a follow up and walked out of the room. Still left with pain and sensations that weren’t there before and no answer still after 3 weeks.

Dr Adler was very kind, caring and patient with my 90yr old Mom. In a matter of minutes he diagnosed her problem when others (at the hospital) could not.

Dr. Adler had not reviewed any of the medical documents his office asked me to drop off. I spent hours between calling to get the documents ready and having to pick them up in Holyoke and drop them off at his office as they contained a disc. He was not prepared for the office visit which was a waste of my time and money.

Very vague!! Did not provide a thorough understanding of what my problem was. I said “is that it” and he said “ Well you need to ask questions” and then he gave me a pamphlet. Spent about 7 minutes with me. Wasn’t impressed, seemed kind of arrogant. I’ll be getting a second opinion.

Dr. Adler started to walk out of the room while I was still asking questions. He didn’t ask many questions or get a good medical history. He didn’t explain anything about my condition or how to treat/present further damage. He’s in and out of room in a few minutes, leaves me with questions, concerns, and unknown future outcomes. Kinda seems like he’s just on the hunt for the patients he can operate on, which I have no doubt he is skilled. But I would be worried he would do an unnecessary operation because he didn’t investigate adequately.

Dr. Adler came into my appointment yesterday and told me that my EMG was fine and it didn’t look like there was anything wrong with my arm. However I broke it 17 years ago it cracks it hurts I’m in pain a lot of the time and he told me he’s sorry there’s nothing he can do he got up and left.

I was Very Pleased ! Dr Alder was gracious to fit me in because there was confusion of the appt time . Tried the exercise with hands hurted my right hand. Last night could feel my pulse in index and middle finger just like it was in my wrist, I have such a burning feeling in right wrist.

My hand feels much better this morning. I very much appreciate the time and attention Dr. Adler gave to me, because of him I am looking forward to a successful outcome for my hand and a much more pleasant golf season. Thank you very much.

Because my neurological symptoms were vague even though my EMG was abnormal he wanted to me to wait six more months. Not super happy . But nothing against him he’s done surgery on Me before and did a great job.

I had a lot of anxiety but he’s very calming and reassuring. I was referred to him by a friend of mine and I was not disappointed!!

Seems to be a good surgeon but needs to tell the patient more about his diagnosis and potential treatment. He told me I have arthritis but he didn't tell me what type or potential treatments available other than hand therapy
